Home Learning
At St Benedict’s we understand Home Learning to mean any work or activities which children are asked to do outside lesson time without the guidance of teachers. It can be done by the child independently or with the support of parents or carers. It is an ideal opportunity for adults, other than teachers, to become active partners in supporting learning.
Home Learning should be enjoyable for the children, stimulate imagination and creativity, as well as reinforcing what is taught in the classroom. Children generally enjoy continuing activities, sharing their experiences and ideas as well as bringing work started at home back into school.
This is an excellent opportunity for parents or carers to share in what their child is learning in school!
We use a range of approaches to support Home Learning from traditional methods (such as spellings, tables, comprehensions, etc) to online learning activities through our DB Primary website.
